Engineer Osama Amir Fadhel is Assistant Undersecretary in the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT). In this role, he is responsible for implementing the vision of the UAE leadership and the Ministry to shape a national knowledge-based industrial sector, focused on advanced technology and through leveraging Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies.

Fadhel specializes in industrial cooperation projects and is passionate about contributing to the development of the local manufacturing capabilities in the UAE. He is a specialist in industrial participation (IP), local content and offset programs. In line with his role, he is mandated to establish local and international partnerships, transfer technology and knowledge, maximize local content, and enhance the productivity and competitiveness of his team.

Prior to his role at MoIAT, Fadhel served as Director of Strategy, Programs & Commercial at Tawazun Precision Industries (TPI) and later at Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC), where he provided strategic direction in the operations of the leading manufacturer of metal parts for aircrafts and compartments for defense equipment. In doing so, he played an instrumental role in elevating the manufacturing facility within the global aviation supply chain for companies like Airbus and Boeing.

Earlier in his career, Fadhel worked with Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (GASCO), and the Australian company Mackay Trailers. He is also a sitting board member of several leading manufacturing companies.

Engineer Osama Amir Fadhel holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from Monash University, Australia. He also earned postgraduate certificates in supply chain and manufacturing leadership from INSEAD Fontainebleau, France.
