Dr Hashem Stietiya

Dr. Hashem Stietiya is the Director of Research & Development at BEEAH Environment Services, the consulting research and innovation business of BEEAH Group. Over his career spanning more than 22 years, Dr Stietiya has been driven by his passion to help people and companies find solutions that minimise environmental pollution and improve quality of life.

His core areas of expertise include waste management consulting, environmental contaminant management, emissions monitoring, soil remediation, and groundwater vulnerability assessments. Dr Stietiya leverages his experience across these disciplines to deliver holistic environmental solutions for clients in the public and private sectors. To help sustain the positive impact of environmental solutions, he formulates policies and reports on areas that affect health, safety and the environment.

Over the course of his career as an environmental consultant and as a university professor, Dr. Stietiya has worked in over 12 countries across the Middle East and North Africa. His experience includes specialised areas such as implementing health and safety regulations as well as larger environmental auditing.

As a published researcher, Dr. Stietiya has contributed to the scientific understanding of environmental issues in order to facilitate innovative, sustainable solutions. Combined with his experience in environmental management in the Middle East, his research methodologies have enabled him to tailor solutions that specifically meet the needs of every client project.

Prior to his work at BEEAH, Dr. Stietiya held a variety of leadership positions and senior technical roles with environmental consultancies across the region, building and leading a team of professionals to carry out environmental and sustainability projects. His studies included Soil Survey Classification and Land Use specification (2001 – 2005), Industrial Water Vulnerability Assessment for Global Beverage Plants in the Middle East (2010-2013), HSSE Regulatory Program for the Middle East (2010-2014), Relative Accuracy Test Audits for Oil and Gas Companies (2014-2016), and Marine Remediation of Drilling Slurry Spillage in Arabian Gulf Seawater (2014).

Dr. Stietiya holds a PhD Degree in Environmental Soil Chemistry from Louisiana State University. He has written and co-authored publications on a range of environmental aspects including soil atlas, nanoparticles, sludge and metals, as well as soil remediation. In 2012, his research was recognised with the ‘Distinguished Researchers Award’ from The University of Jordan.
