Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al Harmi is the Senior Director of the Administrative Affairs Department at Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC). In his current position, Al Harmi is responsible for the Administrative Services, Space Labs & Engineering Supply Chain sections. He started his career with MBRSC in 2006 as an Assistant Researcher for Flight on-board Software and went on to become an Associate Researcher for Flight On-board Software. Later he took over as the Head of the Software Section in the Space Systems Development Department. Al Harmi is well informed on Flight On-board Software design, and has handled various responsibilities including being part of the design team of DubaiSat-1 Flight On-board SW. He also participated in developing the software system for DubaiSat-2 and was responsible for the DubaiSat-2 LEOP (Launch Early Operation). Al Harmi is involved in all design phases of the KhalifaSat project as well as the ground segment which includes the Mission Control Software (MCS) and the Image Receiving Processing Software (IRPS) development. He was a system engineer in KhalifaSat project and the leader of the ground segment team as well as the ground segment system engineering for the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) – Hope. Moreover, Al Harmi had overall accountability for project management at MBRSC in addition to information security, legal, managing the Director General’s Office, organizational development and strategies. He was likewise involved in the selection phase of MBRSC’s astronauts. Currently, Al Harmi’s focus is on administrative affairs, managing the full supply chain at MBRSC and its facilities. He is involved in the higher management team when it comes to all the decisions made at the center.
