Maikel van Iersel holds a Masters and PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, obtained from the Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. After his studies, he has held various research and operations roles at AkzoNobel and SABIC. Last year, Maikel joined Borealis where he is currently responsible for the Hydrocarbons Process Technology team, supporting the sustainability transformation of Borealis through execution of studies and projects as well as driving process technology excellence across Borealis manufacturing locations.
