Daniel Maxa is assistant professor, lecturer and researcher at the Department of Petroleum Technology and Alternative Fuels, University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague.
Research activities of Maxa focus on the properties of crude oil blends related to transport and long- term storage. He is also interested in the processing of renewable feedstocks to produce fuels and chemicals. Research on these topics is carried out with support of research grants from government agencies. In the past, the research interest has focused on environmental issues of fuel production and use, alternative fuels, and pollutant emissions in exhaust gases. Processing of heavy petroleum fractions to produce fuels as well as bitumen binders was also covered.
In addition to his research activities, he is involved in education. He gives courses on refinery equipment design and calculations, laboratory techniques, and petroleum technology. He was an
advisor of more than 50 undergraduate and graduate theses.
Daniel Maxa received his PhD from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague, where he studied Chemical and Energetic Utilization of Fuels.
