Jamie Balmer

Jamie, is an upstream energy advisor based in Dubai. Jamie has 15 years’ experience in the energy industry in the UK, Australia and the Middle East. Prior to his current position he was Vice President Strategy at Wood Plc. His expertise includes energy industry corporate strategy, market and supply chain advisory, scenario planning, field development planning, benchmarking, cost analysis and management, technology assessment, energy transition strategy and ESG / CFD risk assessment. Recent projects include valuation of a portfolio of upstream technologies for a leading Middle Eastern NOC and scenario planning projects on energy transition and sustainable infrastructure for a global engineering consultancy. Jamie holds and MA (Hons) in Management (with Economics) from the University of St Andrews, an MSc in Operational Research from Strathclyde Business School and an MBA (with distinction) from Warwick Business School.
