Monique is a senior lawyer in the Policy & Legal Division of the ADGM’s Financial Services regulator.
She advises across all aspects of the FSRA’s legislative framework as well as international regulatory requirements, compliance and governance matters. Monique co-lead the project that resulted in publication of the ADGM’s Sustainable Finance Regulatory Framework in July this year. The Framework encompasses sustainability-orientated investment funds, managed portfolios and bonds as well as a comprehensive framework for environmental disclosures by ADGM companies.
Monique joined the FSRA from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) where she spent 7 years leading a variety of Group-wide legal, compliance and governance projects. As VicePresident, Group Compliance, she led a diverse team across local and international subsidiaries while spearheading delivery of an inaugural compliance program for one of the world’s largest energy companies.
Monique worked for international banks in London for almost a decade, as senior counsel at Lloyds Banking Group and Deputy General Counsel at Investec Bank plc. She acted on a broad range of strategic matters before, during and after the global financial crisis. Her career started as a corporate lawyer at international law firm Minter Ellison.
