Ms. Vartika Shukla is the Chairman & Managing Director of Engineers India Limited (EIL), a Public Sector Global energy consultancy, MoPNG, Govt of India. She graduated from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in Chemical Engineering and is certified with is also certified with an Executive General Management Program from IIM, Lucknow. Her leadership has transformed EIL’s business operations both on domestic and international fronts leading to highest turnover recorded in the last ten years. In her illustrious career of around 34 years, she served EIL in diverse roles including Director (Technical) with an additional charge of Director (Finance). She has led the organisation’s Research & Development division towards a profit-making business unit from a cost centre and has patented more than 30 patents suggesting significant engineering and technological interventions. Ms. Shukla is also a member of the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB), Govt of India and a Member of the CSIR-CSIO Research Council. She is also an invitee to the boards of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) and Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited (ISPRL).

She also steered the organization forging strategic collaborations with both the industries and academia of international repute to enhance the company’s business portfolio in the emerging green energy business segment such as 2G Ethanol, SAF among others. Her concerted efforts have also led EIL securing business in the Green Hydrogen space. In addition, she has made an immense contribution to the development of National Policies especially in the area of Auto Fuel vision & policy, National Bio Fuel Policy and future road map for the refining and petrochemical sector for the Govt of India.

She is recipient of many prestigious awards such as PETROFED Woman Executive Award, SCOPE Excellence award, Sustainability Award for Best Green Process in Petrochemicals for team (FICCI), Innovation Award for Leadership in Indigenizing Environmentally friendly Sulfur Treating Technology, MoPNG (2017), INAE Women Engineer of the year award (2021), Distinguished Alumnus Award by IIT-Kanpur in recognition of her stellar contributions in the field of Chemical Engineering and Technology.

She is steering EIL’s resolve to become a Net Zero carbon emitting Corporate by the year 2035 spearheading the organization’s new vision statement “To be a Global Leader Offering Total Energy Solutions for a Sustainable Future”.
