Dr. Palat K Menon is a distinguished individual holding several qualifications, including MBBS, MD, PhD, MBA, and CPHQ. His professional expertise spans across areas such as Business Development, Start-Up Operations, Quality Improvement, and Leadership. He has showcased his proficiency and dedication, especially in the realm of healthcare, where he has served many roles. He possesses a keen research interest in fields including Microbiology, Infectious Disease, Molecular Biology, and Virology. Founded AstraGene in Mar 2020 at the height of the pandemic, AstraGene is UAE’S first Molecular Diagnostic Manufacturing company located at Dubai Science Park, Dubai, UAE. AstraGene’s vision is to emerge as a leading manufacturer and marketer of in-vitro diagnostic reagents, kits and instruments both nationally and internationally. We make lab tests easy, with at home testing kits for a wide variety of tests. We have established collaborations across the globe for collaboration and contract manufacturing. Having inaugurated our distribution centre, AstraGene Drug Store, we intend to implement direct distribution to optimize logistics, potentially leading to cost reduction, and ensuring the timely delivery of our quality products to healthcare providers. The UAE (& the GCC), did not have a Biotech Facility for Manufacturing Diagnostic Kits. Diagnostic kits available in the region are largely imported from China, India, Europe or USA. This makes new products expensive and moreover difficult to source in times of emergencies as was seen in the recent pandemic. This project “AstraGene” has been conceived to address that strategic need. AstraGene is ISO 13485 certified, GMP Certified by MOHAP and all its products are CE certified. It and has clients across the Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
