Born in 1980 in Giessen, Germany, Manuel obtained his education at the Technical University Ilmenau in Germany (TUI), the Federal University of Santa Catharina in Brazil (UFSC) and the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in Berlin. He holds a Diploma in Industrial Engineering and a postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Management.

In March 2022 Manuel was appointed as Senior Vice President for the Sustainable Energy Systems Business, which focuses on power-to-hydrogen and power-to-liquid applications for a hydrogenbased economy. From April 2020, Manuel was the New Energy Business Head for Middle East and Africa. Since July 2017, Manuel has also been a Member of the Board of Siemens Pakistan Engineering Company Ltd., registered in Karachi, and since January 2020 he has been Chairman of the Board.

From November 2014 to April 2020, Manuel was responsible for Strategy and Business Development at Siemens’ Middle East headquarters in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. Key activities during this time included the partnership between Siemens and Expo2020 Dubai, as well driving transformational projects in the power sector e.g. in Egypt or the “Siemens Roadmap for the reelectrification of Iraq”.

Manuel’s career in Siemens started in 2005, at Siemens Management Consulting (SMC). As Vice President, Manuel worked on restructuring project businesses in the power generation and transmission area, M&A activities as well as localization projects in the UAE and India. Manuel was also responsible for recruiting, people development, training and staff disposition, for the consulting business with roughly 200 employees.
