Zubin Bamji manages the World Bank’s Global Flaring & Methane Reduction (GFMR) Trust Fund, a partnership of governments and energy companies focused on ending routine gas flaring and reducing methane emissions across the oil and gas sector.
Mr. Bamji oversees a team of experts working with governments and state-owned entities to address economic, regulatory, policy, and technical barriers to flaring and methane reduction, and directs grant financing and advisory support to deliver measurable impact.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Bamji was a Senior Advisor for the U.S. Department of Commerce, working on regulatory, environmental, and sustainability issues for NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration). He has also served as Director of the Security Industry Association and NPR. Mr. Bamji began his career at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics, management, and journalism and mass communications from the University of South Carolina.
