Omar Abdulla Al Hashmi currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of TAQA Distribution, a role he has held since January 2025. In this capacity, he leads the organization’s strategic direction and oversees the delivery of integrated utilities services across its distribution networks.

Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Executive Officer of TAQA’s Transmission & Distribution business, where he was responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of assets and driving operational excellence across the network.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Al Hashmi held the position of Executive Director of Asset Management at Abu Dhabi Power Corporation (AD Power), where he played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s transformation strategy, enhancing its governance framework, and strengthening its operating model. He has also held senior roles including Head of Strategy Development at Etihad Airways and Vice President of the Industry Platform at Mubadala Investment Company.

Mr. Al Hashmi holds a Master of Business Administration from London Business School and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The George Washington University.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, he serves as a Non-Executive Director of Alef Education Holding PLC. He brings extensive experience in utilities, infrastructure, asset management, and strategic transformation.
