Moufdi Zakaria Chikh is an energy executive with more than 24 years of experience across the global energy industry. After starting his career with Anadarko and BP, he joined TotalEnergies in 2002 and has since held a broad range of technical, operational, commercial and executive leadership positions spanning exploration and production, asset management, business development, and mergers & acquisitions. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the development and management of major upstream and LNG projects and world-class assets across Africa, Middle East and internationally, while leading strategic growth, investment and portfolio management initiatives. Prior to his appointment as President TotalEnergies UAE and Country Chair, Mr. Chikh served as Managing Director and Country Chair of TotalEnergies in Algeria. Under his leadership, the Company advanced major gas developments, exploration initiatives and decarbonization projects. Previously, as Vice President Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestitures at TotalEnergies headquarters in Paris, Mr. Chikh led several landmark transactions, including TotalEnergies’ participation in Qatar’s North Field LNG Expansion projects, the acquisition of a 20% stake in Adani Green Energy, and the sale of a 50% interest in TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt to ADNOC Distribution. He also led several strategic acquisitions, divestments and partnership transactions across the Company’s global portfolio while contributing to the expansion of its LNG, renewables and exploration businesses. Mr. Chikh holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from ESTP Paris and a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering and Project Development from IFP School. He is fluent in Arabic, English and French. Born in 1978, Mr. Chikh is married and a father of two.
