Georg Stamatelopoulos was born in Athens in 1970. He received his doctorate in engineering from the Technical University of Braunschweig in 1996. He worked for the manufacturing industry from 1998 to 2010 and held leading management positions at AE Energietechnik GmbH in Vienna and ALSTOM Power Systems GmbH in Stuttgart and Paris. He joined EnBW in July 2010, where he was responsible for new built generation projects. In August 2014, he was appointed Head of the Generation Business Unit. He was appointed to the EnBW Board of Management effective 1 June 2021, as Chief Operating Officer for Generation and Trading. Dr. Georg Stamatelopoulos was appointed Chairman of the Board of Management effective 9 March 2024.
