Hydrogen Innovation Sessions Decarbonisation Theatre 15:05 - 15:25
Hydrogen for net-zero transportation

Hydrogen fuel cells generate electricity with only water vapour as a byproduct, making them a viable option for buses and trucks. The technology offers longer ranges and quicker refueling times than traditional batteries and is suitable for heavy-duty and long-haul applications. However, the widespread adoption of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles is up against high production costs, a lack of refueling infrastructure, and the intense competition from increasingly efficient electric battery technologies. How can hydrogen powered transportation increase its market share and advance the decarbonisation of transportation?

Attendee insights:

Understand the prospects for, and challenges in, deploying hydrogen in commercial transport, and hydrogen’s competitive positioning to enhance its viability in achieving a sustainable transport sector.
