Walid Sheta has been leading the six clusters that make up Schneider Electric’s Middle East & Africa Zone since 2021. He oversees operations across 80 countries with a diverse team of more than 6,500 employees representing 67 nationalities. With over three decades of experience in energy management and industrial automation, he is at the forefront of advancing digital transformation, sustainability, and inclusive growth Walid brings over 30 years of experience in energy management and industrial automation to his role. Prior to his current position, he served as the Cluster President of Northeast Africa and Levant at Schneider Electric, overseeing operations in eight countries, including Egypt, where he directed numerous prominent national and private mega-projects. Walid’s career at Schneider Electric began in 1994, and he has since assumed several senior leadership roles across global markets. Mr. Sheta led the launch of Schneider Electric’s first Regional Distribution Center in Jebel Ali, UAE, in 2001. He served as the International Accounts Manager for Schneider Electric Global Customers in France before assuming the role of Strategy VP for Egypt and Africa. He also served as Country President of Schneider Electric in Nigeria. Beyond his professional responsibilities, Walid actively contributes to business and educational institutions. He chaired the Egypt Committee of French Trade Advisors (CCEF) from 2018 to 2021 and serves on the supervisory board of the French University of Egypt (UFE). A French national of Egyptian origin, Walid holds a master's degree in electronic engineering from the National Institute of Applied Sciences in France.
