Richard Jackson has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Occidental and as a member of the company’s Board of Directors since June 2026.

During his more than 20-year career at Occidental, Richard has held pivotal leadership and technical roles across the company’s global operations. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for global oil and gas operations, integrated low-carbon technologies, midstream and marketing, and health, safety and environmental performance.

Richard joined Occidental in 2003 and worked in the company’s Middle East and Permian Basin operations before transitioning to executive management. His previous roles included President of U.S. Onshore Resources and Carbon Management, General Manager of the Permian Delaware Basin and Enhanced Oil Recovery businesses, Vice President of Investor Relations and Vice President of Drilling Americas.

Richard serves on the board of the American Petroleum Institute and is a member of the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative and World Economic Forum’s Oil and Gas Community. He is past chair of Climate Investment’s Board of Directors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
