Markus Krebber has served on the Executive Board of RWE since 2016, becoming CEO in May 2021.

Dr. Krebber joined the RWE Group in 2012 as a member of the management team at RWE Supply & Trading, the Group´s trading house. He headed this business unit as CEO from 2015 to 2017.

Dr. Krebber holds the position of Vice President of the Federal Association of German Energy and serves on the Presidential Committee of the Federation of German Industry.

Prior to joining RWE Dr. Krebber held several senior management positions at Commerzbank between 2005 and 2012. He worked for McKinsey & Co. as a management consultant from 2000 and 2005.

Markus was born in 1973. He trained as a banker at Deutsche Bank, having studied economics and business administration at Gerhard Mercator University in Duisburg and  Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 2007 he received a doctorate from Humboldt University in Berlin.
