Joseph Samali is the Head of Information Security at NNPC Limited, where he provides strategic leadership for enterprise information security, cyber risk management, security governance, regulatory compliance and cyber resilience. He is an enterprise technology leader with over 24 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, spanning cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, IT infrastructure and service management, technology strategy and governance, and digital transformation. His career has included leadership roles as Head of IT Infrastructure and Service Management, Business Advisor to the Executive Vice President, Business Services, and Enterprise Architect. Joseph has led and contributed to major enterprise technology and governance initiatives at NNPC, including the development of the Enterprise Information Security Framework, establishment of enterprise architecture capabilities, modern workplace transformation, data governance, IT service management and the development of an enterprise IT governance framework. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Benin and professional credentials spanning cybersecurity, enterprise IT governance, enterprise architecture, project management and organisational change, including NIST Cybersecurity Senior Lead Implementer, TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP), Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner, and ISACA COBIT Implementer. He has also undertaken executive education at London Business School and Lagos Business School. His professional interests centre on cyber resilience, AI and emerging technology governance, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, and aligning technology risk with business strategy in the energy sector.
