Darren MacDonald is the Chief Operations Officer at International Maritime Industries (IMI) in Saudi Arabia, overseeing Operations for New Build Rigs, Offshore Projects, and MRO. With over 35 years of experience in the Offshore Oil & Gas and Shipbuilding sectors, Darren has held senior roles delivering major projects across the US, Europe, and the Middle East. He is passionate about complex project delivery and mentoring young talent. Darren holds qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, and a Master’s in Business from Manchester University. At IMI, he leads the Operational Readiness of the RAK yard and the establishment of their project delivery teams and processes. IMIs yard is now open and has a backlog to deliver 20 Jack Up Rigs, various Offshore Projects, 20 VLCCs, 33 Ships & Carriers and has a growing MRO business that supports the Kingdoms Maritime & Offshore assets.
