With more than 20 years of experience across the energy industry, Bilal’s career has spanned power generation, transmission and distribution, nuclear energy, utility operations and large-scale digital transformation. Today, he works with some of the world’s largest utilities, energy companies and industry institutions to advance grid modernization, operational technology, data platforms and industrial AI. Bilal is a recognized voice across the global energy sector and regularly engages with senior executives, policymakers and technology leaders on the future of power, utilities and AI. Last year, he was named Global Energy Innovator of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) in recognition of his leadership and contributions to innovation across the industry. He currently leads Microsoft’s Power & Utilities industry efforts worldwide, bringing together technology, industry expertise and strategic partnerships to help build the next generation of intelligent, resilient and sustainable energy systems.
