Supplying the energy the world will require over the coming decades will depend on the strategic choices made by upstream leaders today. Every decision influences an organisation's ability to remain competitive, deliver reliable production and create long-term value, yet the path forward is becoming less uniform across the industry. Different business models, shareholder expectations and market conditions are leading companies towards different priorities and different definitions of success. The decisions made in boardrooms today will influence investment, production and business performance for decades to come. While companies may pursue different strategies, they share the same responsibility of delivering secure, reliable and competitive upstream supply in an energy system that continues to evolve.
