Belgacem Merad serves as Senior Vice President, Middle East & North Africa (MENA) at Weatherford, where he leads the company's operations and strategic growth initiatives across the region since 2022. He has almost three decades of international leadership experience in the energy sector driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and organizational growth. Prior to joining Weatherford, Mr. Merad held the dual roles of Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Supply Chain Officer for a Dubai-based drilling contractor. Earlier, he completed a distinguished 21-year career with Schlumberger, where he began as a Geophysicist and Seismic Engineer in 1997 and progressively advanced through a broad spectrum of leadership positions. His experience spans field operations, technical, management, human resources, supply chain, Research and Technology development, business integration, Marketing and executive leadership across multiple geographies and product lines. Throughout his career, he has held key positions within both privately owned and publicly listed organizations in the United States and the United Kingdom. Mr. Merad holds two Master of Science degrees: one in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University in the United States and another in Reservoir Geoscience and Engineering from the Institut Français du Pétrole (IFP) in Paris, France. He also earned an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and completed executive education programs in Strategic Management and Advanced Finance at IMD Business School in Switzerland.
