Geopolitical fragmentation, divergent policy environments and increasingly sovereign energy strategies are forcing investors and corporates to rethink where and how they deploy capital. The era of optimising for lowest cost is giving way to one where resilience, security and regional differentiation drive investment decisions. Companies and countries that align investment strategy with the new realities of geopolitical risk will be better placed to sustain both energy security and competitive returns. Is long-cycle renewable investment the right response to immediate supply disruption, or are near-term security concerns crowding out the commitments the energy transition requires?
