Mr. Ramawatar Asawa is a Senior Manager (Technology – Energy) at the Mumbai Refinery of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), India, with over 12 years of experience in refinery operations, energy management, process optimization and technology implementation. He holds a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai and has experience across BPCL’s Kochi and Mumbai Refineries. He currently drives refinery-wide energy management, energy optimization, fuel conservation, Solomon benchmarking, decarbonization and Net Zero initiatives. He has been a key member of task forces for four major refinery turnarounds, including the CCR heater tube replacement shutdown during the COVID-19 period. He also coordinated the grass-root commissioning of the NHT-ISOM unit in 2017, including successful commissioning of a Divided Wall Column and timely delivery of Food Grade Hexane under the BPCL brand.
