With over two decades of petroleum R&D experience, Dr. Kumar specializes in digital refinery innovation, process intensification, residue upgradation, crude oil refining and process modelling. He has pioneered breakthrough technologies including BPMARRK® for real-time crude assaying, K Model® for crude blending and compatibility, Bharat HiGee Deaeration Technology, SD-A² for heavy-oil upgradation, and biodiesel/bio-lubricant processes — with his digital innovations evolving into integrated BPMARRK®–Aspen HYSYS®/PIMS® solutions for real-time refinery optimization. He is also advancing CO₂ capture and H₂ recovery technologies. With 25+ publications, 22+ patents, and 30+ national and international awards — including "Executive of the Year" (HP, USA) and "Innovator of the Year–Team" (FIPI, India), New Product Development (Asian Oil & Gas) — he is a recognized leader in refinery digitalization and clean energy innovation.
