Chief Technologist and Shareholder Representative, OMV Refining and Marketing

My name is Hector Infante and I graduated from university with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering followed by a master’s degree in oil refining processes in 1998. I was fortunate to work as process engineer in the largest refining complex in the world back in the 90s and it was a unique school where I developed my skills in process engineering/troubleshooting in several process units. After 7 years, I joined a joint-venture for extra-heavy oil upgrading into Syncrude as commissioning/project engineer for 3 years. Thereafter, I relocated to the UK where I worked as refining technology senior consultant for several consultancy firms/IOCs and refining technology licensors until 2013. From 2013 until 2022 I worked for Saudi Aramco as refining/chemicals facilities planning consultant developing the downstream’s capital program and crude to chemicals technology portfolio which was a rewarding experience leading the transformation of the downstream business. Finally, since 2022 I joined OMV a chief technologist and shareholder representative to ADNOC Refining and PARCO JVs in technical and projects committees.
