Senior Process Engineer – Gas Treatment, TotalEnergies

Carlos Paipa Zambrano is a chemical engineer with 19 years of experience as a process engineer in the Oil & Gas sector. He holds an MSc in Advanced Process Engineering from the University of Manchester in the UK and an MEng in Gas Processing from the Industrial University of Santander in Colombia. He got his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the National University of Colombia. His experience spans conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering, as well as operations, commissioning, and start-up for gas plants and refining units. He recently joined TotalEnergies in France, where he works on conceptual studies for carbon capture technologies, including pre-treatment, post-treatment, and CO2 quality specifications. He has expertise in gas treatment and refining technologies, steady-state and dynamic simulations, process equipment and pipeline design and rating, relief systems, utilities, and energy integration.
