With more than two decades of distinguished experience, Captain Saif plays a pivotal role in advancing Abu Dhabi's position as a global maritime hub and a leader in sustainability innovation. He holds regulatory authority over five key jurisdictions: As CEO of Abu Dhabi Maritime, the captain is responsible for developing and implementing the emirate's maritime strategy and regulations, managing waterways, licensing activities, overseeing public maritime facilities, and inspecting and licensing more than 1,400 companies across the emirate. Abu Dhabi Maritime also operates Abu Dhabi's public water transport services. As AD Ports Group Chief Sustainability Officer, he is the architect of the Group's Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, driving initiatives that align with global sustainability standards. In addition, Captain Saif leads the Group’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) function, championing a safety-first culture through ISO 45001-certified systems, rigorous training programmes, and regular audits. His leadership ensures compliance with global standards and fosters continuous improvement in safety and resilience planning, safeguarding personnel, assets, and operations. Captain Saif holds an Executive MBA in Strategic Management, Certificates of Competency (CoC) as a Master Mariner, Chief Mate, and Second Mate, and advanced diplomas in Applied Nautical Science.
