Richard (Rich) Howe was named Executive Vice President of Shell’s Conventional Oil & Gas business effective April 1, 2025. During his more than 23 years at Shell, Rich has worked with Upstream and Downstream businesses across several global locations and the US, most recently serving as Executive Vice President of Shell’s global Deep Water business. Prior to that, Rich served as Senior Vice President Upstream Transformation and before that as CEO of the North Caspian Operating Company in Atyrau, Kazakhstan and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Aera Energy, USA. Rich joined the board of the National Association of Manufacturers in February 2024. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University (US) and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (US), Petroleum Technology from Curtin University (Australia), and Business Administration from Duke University (US). Rich lives in London with his wife Robyn and their children Gage, Audrey and Asher. He enjoys competitive road cycling and running for fun.
