Gerhard Warecka was born in Vienna 1963.

He holds a master´s degree in Chemical Engineering (graduated 1987 at Technical University Vienna).

He started to work at OMV Downstream/Refining as process engineer in CDU area and looks back to 38 years experience in refinery Operations & Technology.

After being responsible for Process-Engineering, Automation (Advanced Process Control) he started his management career as Head of Technical department in OMV´s Schwechat refinery (Austria) and was then several years Operations stream lead for all three OMV fuels refineries. Since 2017 he supports OMV´s JV activities at ADNOC Refining as Senior Advisor for Technical Development.
