Dietmar Siersdorfer is the Managing Director of Siemens Energy in the Middle East and Africa, a role he assumed in April 2024 with the unification of the areas as one regional hub. In the combined Middle East and Africa region, Siemens Energy has offices in 24 countries and a headcount of over 3,500 people. Previously Mr Siersdorfer held the position of Managing Director for the Middle East hub, a role he was appointed to after the company’s spinoff from Siemens in May 2020. As an internationally recognized and respected leader in digitalization, decarbonization, and energy transition, Mr Siersdorfer is responsible for deriving operational synergies across the region. He joined Siemens in 1987 and held a variety of leadership positions within the industrial, software and energy fields. The responsibilities spanned across various regions including Europe and Asia as well as global positions. Mr Siersdorfer is an active board member of several Siemens Energy subsidiaries, including Siemens Energy LLC Oman; and Siemens Energy WLL Qatar; and is the Chairman of Siemens Electrical and Electronic Services, K.S.C.C, Kuwait; and the Chairman of Siemens Energy Egypt SA. He is also a board member of several local and international organizations including on the Board of Trustees of the University Paris II, the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK), Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Advisory Council of the Dubai International Chamber of Commerce, and the Dubai Future Energy Council. Mr Siersdorfer is a graduate of the University of Applied Sciences Trier where he studied Electrical Engineering.
