Hiroshi Hagiwara

Hiroshi currently serves as the Chief Technical Representative of JODCO Abu Dhabi Office, a wholly-owned subsidiary of INPEX Corporation. Prior to his current role, he held the position of General Manager of the Renewable Energy & Power Business Division at INPEX HQ in Tokyo until March 2020. In that role, he was responsible for pursuing world-class new business opportunities in onshore and offshore windfarm projects, geothermal power generation projects worldwide, and various new energy initiatives including hydrogen, artificial photosynthesis, and methanation.

With a career spanning over three decades, Hiroshi has developed a strong connection with Abu Dhabi since he entered the industry in 1991. During his early years, he was involved in various seismic activities over offshore oil and gas fields Abu Dhabi. He also dedicated his efforts to E&P research and development projects at JNOC (now known as JOGMEC) in the late 1990s. In 1998, he joined ADMA-OPCO (now ADNOC Offshore) and successfully led a 3D seismic project in a super-giant offshore production oil field. In 2009, after holding various positions at INPEX, he joined JODCO Abu Dhabi as Assistant General Manager. In 2011, he transitioned to ADNOC HQ, where he held technical and leadership roles within the Upstream Directorate. Hiroshi served as Expert Geophysicist at ADNOC Upstream Technical Center until early 2018.

Throughout his career, Hiroshi has actively contributed to the industry. He was a key member of the SEG Middle East Advisory Committee and has been involved in tasks related to the ADIPEC/SPC Technical Committee for many years.
