Al Suwaidi is currently the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in charge of implementing a national industrial strategy to double manufacturing value add in the GDP by 2031 with a focus on priority sectors driven by advanced technology and sustainability. He has extensive experience in leadership positions at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) prior to joining MOIAT in early 2021, including Director of the Commercial and In-Country Value Directorate, Director of the Executive Office, Director of the Gas Management Directorate, and other leadership positions in Oil & Gas exploration & development. His key professional achievements are notably related to adopting Emiratization policies in vital industries and supplies chains, supporting private sector initiatives & diversifying the national economy and strengthening the regional and global competitiveness of the UAE. He has also led strategic international partnerships, FDI attraction, major investment and development projects, and concession agreements in the energy sector. He chaired several editions of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), the largest and most influential global event in the oil and gas sector, in addition to the Make it in the Emirates forum. He is a member of the Board of Directors of ADNOC Sour Gas Company, Taaziz and Etihad Credit Insurance. He holds a bachelor's degree in geological engineering from Colorado School of Mines, USA.
