Dr. Benyoucef is Head of the Energy Studies Department at the OPEC Secretariat. Before joining OPEC in September 2017, he was Director of Studies and Knowledge Management at the Algerian National Oil Company, SONATRACH, where he was responsible for the mid- and long-term planning of the institute’s activities, in particular coordinating training activities and setting up a knowledge management and technological mastery system. Dr. Benyoucef also worked at the Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines and, for many years, was engaged as a lecturer and researcher at the API. Benyoucef has a Ph.D. in Energy Economics from the French Petroleum Institute (Paris) and has published several papers in various specialist journals.
