PhD Candidate
The University of New South Wales
Hasan Vural is a third-year PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, specialising in hybrid hydrogen systems. His research focuses on the full-cycle integration of solar thermal energy for green hydrogen production and its subsurface storage. He investigates the technical and economic feasibility of these coupled systems to optimise their performance for large-scale, low-emission energy deployment. Hasan’s work combines thermochemical electrolysis with modelling of underground hydrogen storage in geological formations such as salt caverns and depleted porous media. He is dedicated to advancing a sustainable global hydrogen supply chain to support the transition toward a cleaner future.
