Mohd Nazlee Rasol carries with him over 28 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry and has held various leadership roles in PETRONAS. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the Upstream Business from Exploration to Development and Production with expertise in Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Arrangement and Asset Management in Domestic and International operations. He was appointed as Vice President Development in June 2025. Nazlee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in the USA (1996). He completed his Advanced Management Program from The Harvard Business School in 2024 and the INSEAD Senior Management Development Program in 2010. Before being appointed to his current role, Nazlee was the Senior General Manager for Peninsular Malaysia Asset (2024-2025), Senior General Manager of Sabah Asset (2022-2023), during which he played instrumental roles in driving operational efficiency and safety performance in the asset. Prior to that he was the President and Country Head for PETRONAS Carigali Indonesia (2018-2021), Executive Assistant to the President and Group CEO (2016-2018), General Manager for Development in Malaysia Petroleum Management and Head of Petroleum Engineering & Development in Petronas Operating Company (PDOC), Sudan. Nazlee has notable achievements include delivering massive development projects in Sudan and executing business turnaround and growth agenda in Indonesia. Nazlee was instrumental in driving the strategy and delivering development activities in PDOC, where the company successfully managed to deliver a production record reaching 80kbd in 2013 while he was overseeing the biggest oil producer and lowest cost operator in Sudan. He was also responsible in leading PETRONAS Carigali’s turnaround program in Indonesia in which he engineered PCINO’s portfolio high grading, delivered exploration discoveries, led multiple new development projects and negotiated new commercial arrangement. Nazlee has strong leadership skills, built upon solid technical and commercial expertise. His key strengths are business strategy, operation efficiency, as well as business transformation. He places much emphasis on building a strong team and facilitating ecosystem to develop an innovative entrepreneurial mindset. While he brings a pragmatic approach to business strategy, operational efficiency and commercial thinking, he puts the needs of talent development and collaboration as a priority. Nazlee also developed his career in multiple regions and countries and is quite savvy with the history, cultures and traditions around the world.
