Yves Houilliez holds a master’s degree in engineering from the École des Hautes Études Industrielles of Lille and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the École de Génie Chimique of Toulouse. He began his career in 1988 in petrochemicals at ENI. After several positions in process and then in operations, he took responsibility for the Olefins Department of the Dunkerque Petrochemical Site.

He joined the TotalEnergies Company in 2001, first in Normandy as Director of Basic Chemicals Activities, then in Brussels as Director of Research and Technology. In 2007, he took over responsibility for a petrochemical complex development project in Arzew, Algeria, before taking up the position of Site Manager on the Carling platform. He continued his career in Houston, where he oversaw the strategy and development of refining chemicals for the U.S. His main activities were to optimize the supply of refining and to develop a new steam cracker project in Port Arthur, Texas.

Back in Europe since 2017, he has overseen Manufacturing, Business Development, and Joint Venture Management for TotalEnergies' Refining and Chemicals. Beyond the operational aspects, he has been involved in recent years in the challenges of the energy transition, with the transformation of the La Mède Refinery into a biorefinery and other projects aimed at reducing CO₂ emissions.

He was recently appointed as VP Korea and Manufacturing Middle East, Asia for TotalEnergies’ Refining and Chemicals.
