After graduating from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, majoring in Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Processing, Jiří worked for nearly a decade as a technology and processing engineer in the ORLEN refinery in Litvínov. Here, Jiří carried out the Hydrocracker Unit revamp, continuing in the process as a Deputy Production Head for Refinery Operations.

In his next role as an ESMC Managing Director, Jiří successfully increased the Dutch catalyst production plant utilisation by 30%. Since 2014, Jiří has been responsible for launching hydrogen economy, biofuels production, and chemical recycling projects within the ORLEN Unipetrol group.

Currently, he is responsible for Technology and R&D for ORLEN Unipetrol refineries. Focusing on professional development, Jiří also holds an MBA from Chapman University (U.S.A.) and is currently completing a PhD programme at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, researching the possibilities of advanced fuel production in the CR.
