Prof. Bai is Founder and Chief Technologist of OPR Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. He also has 20 years of entrepreneurial experience in the field of offshore engineering. He successfully realized the industrialization of marine flexible composite pipes and high-pressure hydrogen storage tank in his company OPR Inc. and the product technology has achieved the world’s advanced level. Prof. Bai has published a total of 24 books, including 11 English Monographs and 13 Chinese monographs. Among them, “Marine Structural Design” is the first monograph in the world that systematically integrates the basic theory and engineering application of marine and ocean engineering mechanics and design codes, “Subsea Pipeline Design, Analysis, and Installation” fills the gap of academic works in the field of subsea pipeline design and construction in offshore engineering industry. In addition, he also published more than 200 papers, nearly 120 of which were cited by SCI. Yong Bai owns 56 intellectual property rights in the field of Offshore Engineering, flexible pipe and (18 invention patents, 38 utility model patents and 6 software copyrights). His technical achievements have reached the international advanced level. Prof. Bai also served as a member of Committee of the International Society of Ship and Offshore Structures, member of the International Conference on Ocean Mechanics and Polar Engineering, and the co-chairman of the 2017 and 2023 International Conference on Ships and Offshore Structures. He served as a training instructor for many oil companies in China, the United Kingdom, the United States, Norway, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.
