Global strategy Conference Room B 10:10 - 10:30
India: land of opportunities for global players

India is one of the world’s largest energy consumers, importing 90% of its crude while 70–80% of its hydrocarbon reserves remain untapped, equivalent to an estimated 100 billion barrels of oil. This combination of vast potential and rising demand makes India a compelling destination for global E&P companies and service providers.

With energy needs reshaping global crude flows, the government is accelerating exploration through reforms such as the Open Acreage Licensing Policy, Discovered Small Fields initiative, and new rules that encourage investment. Deepwater and ultra-deepwater basins are being opened, creating fresh opportunities for collaboration and technology partnerships.

In this Energy Talk, Anil Agarwal, Vedanta Group’s Chairman, will share how India is diversifying across mining, oil & gas, technology, and renewables. In addition, he will share how his leadership underscores the spirit of entrepreneurship driving India’s rise as a land of opportunity for global energy players.
