Matt Taher is a Bechtel Fellow and Technology Manager at Bechtel Energy’s LNG Technology Center in Houston, Texas. A globally recognized expert in complex turbomachinery and LNG processing, he has led innovative solutions across some of the industry’s most technically demanding energy projects.

As a Bechtel Fellow —the highest technical honor awarded within the company— Mr. Taher serves as a trusted advisor and strategic leader, shaping technology direction and driving innovation on complex, high-impact energy initiatives.

Matt Taher is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and has served as chair of the ASME PTC-10 code committee. Under his leadership, the performance test code for centrifugal compressors was successfully updated and published in 2023—the first revision in 25 years.

Matt Taher also serves on the advisory boards of the Texas A&M Turbomachinery Symposium and the Global Power and Propulsion Society (GPPS), based in Zurich, Switzerland.
