Dr. Obi Okafor, PhD, PE, PMP® is a distinguished chemical engineering leader with over two decades of experience in technical, functional and project leadership across process development and capital project execution. In his current role as Senior Process Engineering Manager – LNG at Honeywell LNG, he leads the process engineering function, overseeing technology development, design, execution, technical support, and the advancement of LNG process cycles and coil wound heat exchanger solutions. Prior to joining Honeywell LNG, Dr. Okafor served as Process Engineering Manager at Corning Incorporated, where he held diverse roles spanning development, engineering, and manufacturing. He successfully led large-scale technical and capital projects, managing global and cross-functional teams focused on process innovation, optimization, new product introduction, and technology transfer—including international assignments. Dr. Okafor holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria, and both Master of Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Chemical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. He is an inventor on seven U.S. patents and patent applications, author of fourteen technical publications, and has co-written a book on catalysis and separations.
