Dr. Dagmar Dirzus has been Vice President AI & Platform Business at KROHNE Messtechnik in Duisburg since October 2021. She completed her mechanical engineering studies with a focus on manufacturing technology at RWTH Aachen University in 2002. After graduating, she worked at the Machine Tool Laboratory, in the Department of Production Engineering under Professor Günther Schuh, where she completed her doctorate in engineering in 2009. During this time, she also took over as director of studies for the Executive MBA program at RWTH Aachen University and the University of St. Gallen, as well as managing the WZLforum and the International Academy at RWTH Aachen University. After driving forward the development of the WBA Aachen Toolmaking Academy, she moved to the Association of German Engineers in Düsseldorf in 2011. There, as a member of the Technology and Society Division Management and a member of the VDI e.V. management team, she took on responsibility for the joint work of four professional associations in 2014 and was managing director of the VDI/VDE Society for Measurement and Automation Technology. Since 2022, she has been Scientific Advisor in the FFG project i³Sense. Since September 2023, she has been a member of the Administrative Board of TÜV Rheinland e.V. and, since January 2024, Chair of the VDI Technical Committee on Digitalization of Wastewater Systems.
