Tayba Abdulrahim Al Hashmi brings more than 20 years of industry experience across a range of technical disciplines and leadership positions. In her current role, she leads an organization of 7,000 people and works with nine international partners to safely deliver more than half of Abu Dhabi’s oil and gas production, while contributing to ADNOC’s efforts to maximize value and help responsibly meet the world’s growing energy demand. Al Hashmi previously served as CEO of ADNOC Sour Gas from 2020 until 2023, where she played a pivotal role in positioning the company as a competitive and reliable gas supplier. In 2018, Al Hashmi was appointed CEO of Al Yasat Petroleum Operations Company, becoming one of the first female CEOs across the ADNOC Group. Between 2013 and 2018, Al Hashmi held a series of leadership positions in ADNOC’s Upstream directorate including Senior Vice President, Undeveloped Reservoirs, unlocking reserves in support of ADNOC’s growth strategy and delivering the world’s largest offshore sour gas project; Senior Vice President, Exploration, where she restructured ADNOC’s development and exploration strategies; and Vice President, Development, where she was responsible for managing ADNOC’s onshore oil and gas portfolio. From 2021 to 2024, Al Hashmi chaired ADIPEC, the world’s largest energy conference hosted annually in Abu Dhabi, leading cross-industry collaboration efforts to help shape the future of the energy industry. In addition, Al Hashmi is a board member of ADNOC Logistics & Services, ADNOC Onshore, Al Yasat Petroleum, Bunduq Company Limited and the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). She is also a member of several committees and professional bodies, including ADNOC’s Gender Balance Committee, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Gasha Concession Interim Operating Committee (IOC). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from UAEU, Al Ain.
