EVP Joint Ventures
Borealis
Philippe Roodhooft was appointed Executive Vice President Middle East and Growth Projects in November 2017. In April 2025 he assumed the role of Executive Vice President Joint Ventures, with a focus on managing the joint ventures Borouge and Baystar and on delivering on key strategic initiatives. Philippe Roodhooft first joined Neste Chemicals in 1990 as a project engineer in Beringen, Belgium. After the merger with Statoil, he became responsible for plant management in Borealis, Kallo, and later on in Beringen. He moved to Vienna, Austria in 2007 and since then has held several senior management positions including General Manager for Central European production sites, Senior Vice President Operations for the Borealis group of companies, and Senior Vice President Supply Chain and Product Management for Polyolefins. In 2013, Philippe moved to Borouge ADP in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as Chief Operating Officer. He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Science from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium, with a specialization in Production Management and Electro Mechanical Engineering. Philippe Roodhooft is a Belgian citizen. He is married, has two children and lives in Vienna, Austria.
