Danielle A. Jones-Hunte is an experienced global executive dedicated to changing the world one character at a time. The work she does shapes lives – not just the bottom line. Her expertise in transformation and crisis management has shaped multinational corporations and start-ups. Over the past 15 years, she has led global teams in the strategic delivery of cutting-edge multi-media campaigns, award winning social investment programs and management of investor, stakeholder and media relations for over $9B in merger and acquisition deals. As a coach and inclusion advocate, Danielle also finds joy in helping people shine. Danielle is currently Vice President of Communications and External Affairs at bp. She serves as the chief communication and corporate affairs executive for bp’s portfolio of businesses in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) including energy, aviation, trading and strategic partnerships. She is a member of the bp MENA executive leadership team and leads the integrated corporate affairs and communication team in bp's regional portfolio – with primary focus on Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Libya, Oman, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar. Her team’s scope includes multi-media campaign strategy, internal and external communication, reputation management, social investment and media relations for audiences in over 30 countries. She also lead’s the region’s inclusion agenda focused on developing local talent and advancing equality. Danielle previously led the communication strategy for the global gas and renewables portfolio at bp where she honed expertise in merger and acquisition strategy. Former roles included being the communications lead for the largest people and culture change in bp’s 100-year history, roles leading transformation in joint ventures (including Reliance in India) and global marketing campaigns including the award winning bp London 2012 campaign that included influence marketing (a role in which she got to throw a parade – literally!). Prior to bp, Danielle worked in media, the finance sector and was a professional advocate in Washington D.C. Having lived, worked and lectured at universities on 3 continents, through a consultancy she founded in 2004, Danielle provides strategic counsel on organizational communication, transformation, AI and advancing inclusion strategies. She has advised executives in the Finance, FMCG, entertainment and marketing arenas. Danielle is also a passionate breast cancer advocate and has hosted large scale fundraisers and awareness campaigns targeting women in her home country of Trinidad and Tobago. A former television personality, she has been sought out as a feature speaker and presenter for various conferences including mentoring programs with United Nations agencies. Her work has been referenced in publications by the International Association of Business Communicators and Danielle has been called ‘The Sparkler’ by LinkedIn followers for her insights on modern leadership. Danielle holds a Master of Arts in Communication and Culture from Howard University and a certificate in leadership from Stanford University but is forever inspired (and ‘schooled’) by her love for husband and son.
