Non-OPEC suppliers to play a key role in meeting growing energy demand: Welligence report

With unprecedented global energy demand and shifting policy priorities continuing to reshape the energy market, oil suppliers around the world – including outside of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) – are ramping up their production, according to a recent Welligence report titled ‘Oil supply – the key non-OPEC growth suppliers’.

Among the non-OPEC suppliers that can help meet energy demand projections, the report identified Alaska, the Guyana Basin in Guyana and Suriname, Namibia, and Argentina as key suppliers in the short to medium term. These key suppliers are able to jointly provide an additional 3.4 million billion barrels per day by 2032 to the global energy market.

The report also highlighted the need for further long-term exploration, in both frontier basins and established basins like the pre-salt in Brazil and the Nanushuk play in Alaska, as well in shale.
