CCUS advancing with measured momentum: Welligence report

The global carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) sector is in the midst of its largest pipeline of executable projects to date, although the majority of the capture capacity remains in the early stages of execution, the recently released Welligence report titled ‘CCUS advancing with measured momentum’ has revealed.

Global CO₂ capture capacity now exceeds 541.1 million metric tonnes per annum (MMtpa), of which 73% remains at the preliminary front-end engineering design (pre-FEED) stage, almost 11% has advanced to FEED and 8% is already operational.
