LNG’s final investment decision race heats up: Welligence report

Final investment decisions (FIDs) for liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects this year have been concentrated in the United States’ Gulf coast, where Woodside Energy’s Louisiana LNG, Cheniere Energy’s Corpus Christi Midscale Trains and Venture Global’s CP2 LNG project have been sanctioned, the recently released Welligence report titled ‘ LNG’s FID race heats up’ has revealed.

With additional FIDs expected in the US and Qatar post-2025, the report estimated that by 2030, the two areas will account for ~50% of global LNG production.

Prepared as part of Welligence’s media partnership with ADIPEC 2025, the report is the first of four that will be published this year, focusing on key areas in the global energy sector.
